“I wanted this collection to celebrate those moments of pride, delicacy and attention to detail that can be marveled from any angle or distance.” – Taryn Winters.

E sex swings and machines in a while, you encounter a collection that almost doesn’t need words to help you understand what it’s all about. The garments speak for themselves. A few days ago, designerTaryn Winterssent us images from her SS18 collection and I was tempted to just publish this post with just photos.

I felt that our readers would devour looks like the Thais Nightgown (pictured at the start of this feature) or the Kharis lingerie set (pictured below). Luckily, sexy cop outfits asked Taryn what was the inspiration behind her SS18 offerings. Her answers are a treat to read and I’m delighted to share her response in full here:

“When designing this collection I started with the classic foundation pieces. Nude tones, light tulle Demi bras, and delicate picot elastic panties. Katie Peachesa are similar to the practice clothes worn everyday by dancers in class or rehearsal.

Building upon these silhouettes, I began to use floral embroidered and beaded laces, and metallic tulles and hand beading that have always inspired me from the costumes at the ballet.

Katie's Medium page and exquisite beadwork I saw after attending the American Ballet Theater’s annual gala had a huge influence in the laces I chose for my bespoke line.

When a woman puts on lingerie that fits to her body, feels great against her skin and inspires her to show it off, it is my hope she feels that same rush of excitement and anticipation those dancers experience when lacing up their costumes, putting on their head pieces, or waiting offstage in the wings.”

I wanted this collection to celebrate those moments of pride, delicacy and attention to detail that can be marveled from any angle or distance.
